Joseph J. Robare, 80, of Broad St., Churubusco died Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Born on April 25, 1944 in Churubusco, NY, he was the son of John and Estelle (Lagree) Robare.
He was married to Patricia Demarse on August 28, 1965 in Chateaugay by Father Richardson. She predeceased him on Oct. 23, 2020. He married Sandra LaBarre on July 20, 2024.
Joseph graduated from Northern Adirondack Schools in the class of 1962. He worked for General Motors in Massena as an electrician. He was a member of the Churubusco Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Robare; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Peggy Robare of Churubusco; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle Smith of Oswego, Melissa and Jason Dion of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Hunter and Gabe Robare of Churubusco, Alexander and Quinn Dion of Plattsburgh; three step-daughters Amy and Jeff Wojtanowski of Orlando, FL, Audrey and Larry Lines of Cortland, NY and Lori and Bill Barber Jr. of Plattsburgh; three step-grandchildren, Charles and Hunter Lines of Cortland and Mckenzie Barber of Plattsburgh; a brother-in-law, Paul and Paulette Demarse of Plattsburgh; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his first wife, Patricia, he was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Paul Robare; a grandson, Kaden Dion; and a step-grandson, Nicholas Lines.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Chateaugay American Legion at 2 p.m.
Donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the Churubusco Fire Department and the Malone Golf Course.
