Michael Patterson Obituary

Michael was born on November 12, 1949, in Malone, to the late Paul and Frances (Carlin) Patterson. He graduated from Franklin Academy. Just two days after his 19th birthday, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the Navy for two years when he was honorable discharged. After his discharge, Michael went to college at Canton ATC. Michael went to work for the United States Postal Service in the maintenance department, which was his life long career. On January 1, 1991, Michael married the love of his life, Deborah Butterfield.
Michael is survived by his wife, Deborah (Butterfield) Patterson of Malone, a daughter; Nicole Woods, a daughter-in-law; Marille Patterson, four grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. Along with them, are his two brothers; David (Darlene) Patterson and Danny (Katie) Patterson, his sister Susan (Thomas) Klinklow, his brother-in-law Roger (Sue) Butterfield, his sisters-in-law; Judy Clarke, Jackie(Gary) Butterfield, and Carolina Butterfield, two very special friends; Thomas and Susan Barrett, and two nieces by heart; Tori Barrett and Sierra Callanan. Michael is predeceased by his parents Paul and Frances, his son; Brock Michael, a grandson; Ethan Michael, a brothers-in-law Ivan Clark and Melvin Butterfield.
He was a member of St. Andre's Parish, Malone Amvets, and the Malone American Legion post 214. He enjoyed going to the casino, riding motorcycles, and was an avid Yankees fan.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Michael to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
