Joseph Romano

With heartfelt love and gentle sorrow, the family of Joseph Romano announces his peaceful passing at the age of 93 on December 11, 2025. Surrounded by those who cherished him most, Joseph left this world having lived a long, full life grounded in devotion, hard work, and deep affection for his family.
Joseph was born on October 12, 1932, in Chicago, to the late Italian immigrants, Ciro and Maria Romano.
Born with an industrious spirit and a warm heart, Joseph built his career as a skilled printer, a trade he took great pride in throughout his life. His dedication to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his work, Joseph was a man who found joy in life's simple but meaningful pleasures. A proud Chicagoan at heart, he was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bears, cheering for his teams through every season with enduring optimism. He also had an abiding love for good Italian food, savoring meals that brought family together and reminded him of the traditions he held dear.
But above all, Joseph loved his family. He was a devoted presence-steady, generous, and full of quiet wisdom. His warmth, his stories, and the gentle humor he shared at the table will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Joseph's legacy lives on in those who survive him, carrying forward his values of loyalty, hard work, and love. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit remains in every memory, every shared meal, and every joyful game day.
Beloved husband of 27 years to Ruth Romano; loving father of Christopher Romano; cherished grandfather of Jeff (Michelle) Stanisz, Austin Romano, and Isabella Romano; and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love, patience, and compassion. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph (Emma) Romano and Flora (Anthony) Sferrino.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 North York Street, Elmhurst.
