Joseph Allen Rush, 40, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana.

Joe was born on November 3, 1984, and was the beloved son of the late Allen Rush and Debra (Ellis) Stoner. Joe was baptized in the Catholic tradition. During his childhood and early adulthood, Joe cherished the relationships that he had with grandparents, Charles and Linda Ellis, and Larry and Rebecca Rush. He loved to spend time on his grandparents' farm, where he learned many skills and had many adventures. Joe was a talented handyman and electrician who enjoyed repairing and improving anything with an engine. He had a deep appreciation for farm life and a passion for cars and snowmobiles. His hobbies also included fishing and cooking-activities he loved to share with those closest to him.

The relationships that Joe shared with his cousins, Roxanne Mathews, Jacob Hull, Jami Reyes, Matthew Ellis, and Katelind Ellis were special relationships, and they were siblings to him, through the good and the bad.

He is survived by his cherished daughter, Alleyah Neumann, who he would tell you was his greatest surprise and best part of his life. Joe is also survived by his grandfather, Larry Rush, sisters, Tracey (Joshua) Schafer and Nichole (James) Temple; and his nieces and nephews, James Temple, Hailey Temple, Emmit Schafer, and Everett Schafer.

Services will be held privately by the family.
