Joseph Adam "Joe" Sandbothe, 93, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Heisinger Bluffs West.

He was born on October 14, 1931, in Vienna, Missouri to Ben and Lena (Wieberg) Sandbothe.

Joe served in the United States Navy on the USS Bremerton during the Korean Conflict.

He was united in marriage on November 6, 1954, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville to Betty Lou Bernskoetter who survives at the home.

Joe loved Sunday family dinners and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved being on the river, dancing, traveling, and playing cards with family and friends. Most recently, he looked forward to meeting his friends for coffee.

Joe worked hard all his life, primarily as a painter and glazier.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Holy Name Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2693, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; three children, Karen (Jay) Keller; Susan (Mark) Rehagen; and Julie (David) Bange; all of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Christopher Rehagen, C.S.C., Thomas (Robin) Rehagen, Stephen (Natalie) Rehagen, Matthew Rehagen, C.S.C., Hannah (Aidan) King, Kayte Keller, and John Keller; five great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Sue Mueller, Virginia Henley, Kay (Tom) Ferring, Quinten (Rose) Sandbothe, and Roger (Linda) Sandbothe.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Sandbothe; and six siblings, Viola Branch, Ed, Bernard, Felix, Robert, and Virginia Sandbothe.

Visitation will be 5:30-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, Diocesan Administrator, officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or to Helias Foundation.
