Joseph Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Jun. 14, 2025.
Joseph Lee Scott, 94, Eminence, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2025. Joe was born at home on September 27, 1930, to the late Thomas and Margurette (Rosenbalm) Scott. He married the love of his life, Joyce (Pauley) Scott, on May, 29, 1969, and she survives.
Joe graduated from Eminence High School in 1948. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Joe worked for the Clay County Telephone Company for 40 years, retiring as a programmer in 1995. He was a lifelong member of the Eminence Baptist Church, a former volunteer firefighter for the Eminence A & A Fire Department, and a 64-year member of the American Legion. Joe was also strongly devoted to the Masonic fraternity, having served as Past Master of the Eminence Masonic Lodge #440, Past Worthy Patron of the Eminence Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Scottish Rite, Past High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons, and was recognized as a 33rd Degree Mason. Joe was Past Associate Grand Guardian of Job's Daughters and Past Guardian of Eminence Job's Daughters.
A history buff through and through, Joe was well-versed in national history and extremely knowledgeable about local Eminence history. He was an avid reader and was always interested in continuing to learn. Joe was a proud and honorable man, a true patriot and loyal American who enjoyed flying the American flag. His beloved Joyce was the apple of his eye, and his love for Joyce and the family was unwavering. Only a close second was his loyal canine companion, Carly Jo. Joe was an orderly and meticulous man who will be fondly remembered by his many friends and loving family.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a son, Tom Bredlow, and a daughter, Roberta "Bobbie" Sachs.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; daughters, Gerry (Bill) Griffith and Robin Sims; twelve grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
