Joseph Andrew Sechser

Joseph Andrew Sechser, born February 20th, 1965, was welcomed into his eternal home on May 21st, 2022, after an eleven-month battle with brain cancer. His Glioblastoma diagnosis came as a shock in June 2021, and he battled through multiple surgeries, chemo, and radiation to have more good days with his family.
Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph will be held on Friday May 27, 2022, at 11:00am at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa, MN. There will be a visitation for family and friends held on Thursday May 26, 2022, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the church, and an hour before the service on Friday. A prayer service and rosary will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday.
Joseph was married to Amber Jeanette Sechser (Thoms) for 32 years and was the father to 11 beautiful children.
In 1994, Joseph bought land in Pine River just around the corner from his childhood home. There he built his own family a home where they have lived ever since. He was kind to everyone he met and reminded his family to continue to "Love others and Be Kind to everyone you meet". He loved spending quality time with all of his kids and grandkids; they brought him great joy. He prided himself on hard work and successfully ran his business, Joe's Heating and Air, in the Lakes Area for the past 20 years. He enjoyed spending time in the woods, on the lake fishing, and for the past 4 winters he had a newfound pastime, snorkeling the reef in Cozumel, Mexico. On a summer evening you could almost always find him enjoying a margarita and tossing bean bags in the front yard. He was very involved in his parish community, Our Lady of the Lakes, where he served as an Ordained Deacon and assisted with many aspects of ministry.
Joseph is survived by his 11 children, Cassie (David Liedl), Victoria, Joshua (Katherine), Luke (Maya), Cecilia, Anna, Gianna, Josiah, Eli, Nicholas, and Zoe, his 6 grandchildren, all 8 of his brothers and sisters, and his loving wife, Amber.
