Darleen Fay (Barrett) Anderson, age 85, of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, and Fifty Lakes, Minnesota passed away at the Pine River Good Samaritan Home after a several year battle with cancer on October 16, 2025. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
Daughter of Frank and Fay (Haas) Barrett, Darleen was born February 5, 1940, at Brainerd, Minnesota. She graduated from Brainerd, Minnesota High School in 1959.
She married Jerry (ask Jerry if this is Gerald??) Louis Anderson on May 21, 1967, at Brainerd, Minnesota. They were married for over 58 years.
The majority of Darleen’s career was with the Potlatch paper corporation in Brainerd, Minnesota. She worked there for 37 years. She held several positions there: working to ensure paper quality and then working in the painting department, helping to ensure the plant was kept nicely painted. After retiring, she and Jerry began a long and enjoyable set of retirement years. They traveled to many states, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as Germany and Ireland.
Darleen enjoyed doing crafts and had a special place in her heart for Operation Christmas Child shoe box mission, helping to complete countless shoe boxes to donate to children.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Louis Anderson, of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, and Fifty Lakes, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Home.
