Born in Springfield MA, June 7, 1959, Bones was a true spirit. He embraced life with an unmatched fervor. He reveled in the joys of being the life of the party, exploring casino recreational, and entertainment activities, and enjoyed being a jokester amongst family and friends: bringing laughter and excitement wherever he went. But beyond these roles, Joe's greatest gift was his ability to connect and engage in meaningful conversations. He could talk for hours, he loved sharing stories, wisdom, and humor with anyone he crossed paths with. A comforting presence, "Bones" was always a phone call away for those in need, He possessed a rare gift for listening and offering advice with a touch of comedy, making him a beacon of comfort for those seeking guidance.
Joe left school early to work and later achieved his GED. The Springfield Housing Department employed him as Maintenance staff for many years. Upon his retirement, Joe's Life was guided by two simple principles, "You only live once, live how you gonna, and do what you do, and don't worry about other people. 'If they don't like it forget them!" These words encapsulated Joe's unwavering commitment to living authentically and embracing every moment with pleasure and resilience.
Joe is predeceased by his beloved parents Stanley and Charlie Mae Simmonds, and his brothers Merle (Chuckie) Simmonds, and Willie (Chipper) Simmonds.
