Joseph Anthony "Tony" Sims, 79, passed away Friday, February 20th, 2026 at his brother's home.

He was a graduate with a master's degree in psychology from Murray State and an All Conference Lineman in 1968. He was a shrimp boat operator, transporting seafood from Louisiana to Ohio with many stops along the way; and a self employed owner/operator of a small concrete construction company.

Preceding Tony in death is his wife of 35 years, Brenda Bryant Sims; his parents, Patrick and Dorothy Sims; brothers, William, Robert and Thomas Sims; and a sister, Barbara Semones.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Ken Sims (Lesa), Art Sims (Josie), Jeff Sims (Kimberly), and Richard Sims (Shay); and sisters, Martha Jean Liebert, and Mary Elizabeth Sims; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 2nd at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Drive, with inurnment to take place in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Memorial visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Rattermans.
