Joseph Franklin Sirk, Jr., 76, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Born in Olney, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin Sirk, Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Peugh) Sirk. He was the loving husband to Mary Elaine (Yoder) for 54 years.
Joseph was a logger and mechanic. He loved to hunt and fish in his free time. He was known for his great sense of humor and his love of dogs. Joseph was passionately faithful and always wished for others to come to faith in Christ. Above all else, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his two children, Letitia Sirk and Joseph F. Sirk, III and his wife, Joelle; his eight grandchildren; and his three siblings, Anna Trent, Daniel Sirk, and Pattie Kepplinger. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara Folks, Mary Bywater, William "Billy" Sirk, and Betty Bowman; along with his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10AM at Strickler's Mennonite Church, 3256 Schoolhouse Rd, Middletown, PA 17057. Interment will follow in Shope's Cemetery of Middletown, PA. Family and friends are invited to view on Thursday, December 19th from 5-8PM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 and on Friday, December 20th at the church from 9AM until time of service.
