Joseph A. “Shivy” Siwula, 93 of Everson passed away, Thursday, October 31, 2024. He was born April 12, 1931, in Everson, a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Stepanic) Siwula.

Prior to his retirement, Shivy was employed by Commisso Paving & Construction Company with 37 years’ service. He was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1949. A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean War where he attained the rank of Corporal. He was also a lifelong member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson. He was a dedicated member of the Everson Volunteer Fire Company for over 50 years where he held numerous offices. He was a member of the Fayette County Firemen’s Association and the Western PA Firemen’s Association, the Everson P.A.K. and the former Scottdale V.F.W. He had previously served on the Everson Borough Council and was the Code Enforcement Officer.

Shivy is survived by his loving wife Marla Jane (Szolek) Siwula; his son, Joey Lee Siwula and his step-sons, Scott Kendrish (Lara Franks) and Steve Kendrish and his wife Mary Ann; grandchildren, Larry and Jimmy Siwula, Amy, Jennifer and Vincent Evans, Pappy’s special grandson - Stephen Ryan Kendrish (Hailey Powell) and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Evans; daughter in law, Sandy Siwula; grandson, Joey Siwula, Jr and his sisters, Florence Potoniec and Margaret Sandzimier.

Private committal services and inurnment will take place in St. Joseph RC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Everson Volunteer Fire Company. Arrangements are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Scottdale. Online condolences are welcome at www.gjfuneral.com
