Joseph Patrick "Joe" Sline, 62, of
Auburn, NH, passed away at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on March 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on March 17, 1963, to the late Thomas J. Sline and Marlene M. (Gillespie) Taylor. He was raised in Boca Raton, Florida and Salem, New Hampshire.
For over 20 years, Joe was a dedicated employee of New England Builders, where he worked as a Project Manager.
Joe will always be remembered for his loyal and caring personality. He was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have - generous, dependable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. If someone needed help, Joe was there without hesitation. His friendships meant the world to him, and those who knew him knew they could always count on him.
Joe was a humble man who found his greatest happiness in the people he loved. Some of his favorite moments were spent in Aruba with his wife Jo-Ann, a place they returned to year after year, or hosting backyard barbecues by the pool, surrounded by family and friends.
In his day-to-day life, Joe could often be found in the garage with his closest friends - a group that shared countless laughs and years of friendship together. These friendships were a constant in his life and meant more to him than words could say.
Joe was most comfortable in blue jeans, a Life Is Good T-shirt, and a sweatshirt from one of his granddaughters' colleges, quietly proud of the girls he adored so much. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Tootsie, who was his constant companion for many years.
Above all else, Joe was devoted to his family. He was a proud father and an incredibly proud grandfather. His three granddaughters, Lilly, Isabelle, and Caroline, were the light of his life, and he loved nothing more than cheering them on and celebrating their accomplishments and milestones.
In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his siblings Carol and Tom.
Joe is survived by his wife and love of 38 years, Jo-Ann (Connearney) Sline; his daughter, Janelle Deacy and her partner Brian Carmody; his son, Justin Santagati; his granddaughters Lilly, Isabelle, and Caroline; his sisters Valerie and Kathi. Joe also shared a very special bond with his brother-in-law Henry, his sister-in-law Deborah, and their son Zach, who were an important and cherished part of his life and family, along with several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, March 10, from 3–6 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road,
Windham, NH. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6 PM. To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.carrierfuneralhome.com.
