Joseph Francis Steffe, Sr., age 92, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, PA. Formerly a resident of Warminster, PA for over 59 years, he was most recently a resident at Neshaminy Manor in Warrington since February 2023. Joe was born on October 24, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to the late George J. and Jennie C. Steffe, (nee Lippl). He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy R. Steffe, (nee Colavita) and his loving children and their spouses : Thomas J. (Anna), Michael J., Joseph F., Jr. (Danielle), and Susan L. Wolstenholme (John). He was the devoted grandfather to Eric, Robert, Matthew, Christian, Nicholas, Alexis, Jason, Matthew, Ryan, and Chase and the beloved brother to Dolores T. and the late Raymond Joson and brother-in-law to Jean B. and the late Robert M. Colavita. He was preceded in death by his sisters Jane M. DiSipio (Anthony) and Marie K. Donahue (Philip), and his brothers George C. Steffe (Barbara) and Francis X. Steffe. He was the beloved uncle to 19 nieces and nephews. After graduating from Roman Catholic High School in 1949, Joe proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his service, Joe attended La Salle College and graduated with a BS in Accounting in 1957. Joe found employment at the Budd Company, where he met his wife and worked for over 35 years until his retirement in 1987 as Plant Controller for the Fort Washington division. Joe was a dedicated parishioner and active volunteer at Nativity of Our Lord Parish for 60 years. He worked as bookkeeper there until 1997 and volunteered since the early 1970's at their annual carnival, in addition to collecting for the Catholic Charities and counting/tabulating the weekly collection. Joe was very athletic in his youth, having played football, baseball, and basketball, and was a die hard Eagles and Phillies fan. A handy craftsman, he completed numerous projects and additions around the house and enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn, and crossword puzzles. He was also an enthusiastic grocery shopper, never missing a Shop Rite "Can Can" sale. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Joe will be remembered for his easy going, generous, and honest nature and how he was always eager to lend a hand. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 West Street Road, Warminster, PA. Subsequent interment will be private for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe's memory may be made to the Tunnel To Towers Foundation, online: T2T.org or by mail: 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.

To Aunt Dorthy, Thomas, Michael, Joseph and Susan-so sorry to hear of the passing on of Uncle Joe. Sorry we could'nt make the services but I'm so happy I was able to see him on Thanksgiving with Bill. Appropriate too as we were so thankful and lucky to have such a kind, easy going uncle , who was genuinely interested in our lives as we were growing up. Could'nt ask for a better Godfather! Would love to get together with you all at sometime.
