Joseph Steinfelt, 88, of Yoe, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Snyder) Steinfelt, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories.
Born on July 15, 1936, in McSherrystown, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Eck) Steinfelt.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Joe lived a full and meaningful life, marked by his deep love for family, his incredible craftsmanship, and his unquenchable spirit of adventure.
Joe was a maintenance foreman at Columbia Products. Following retirement, he drove for local car dealerships delivering cars along the east coast for over 20 years. Skilled with his hands, he had a passion for woodworking, furniture restoration, house painting, and wallpapering. His talents were perhaps best seen in his meticulous restoration of a 1946 Hudson-lovingly rebuilt from the frame up.
Joe's fascination with flight began in childhood, sparked by a lifelong admiration for airplanes. A birthday gift from Marilyn-a flying lesson-turned a dream into reality and eventually led him to earn his private pilot's license. He treasured the freedom of the skies, often taking his family on flights, sharing his joy and passion from above.
A world traveler at heart, Joe explored Europe, Egypt, Australia, and New Zealand, though his heart always led him back to Ireland-a place he visited over eleven times and held especially dear.
Joe was a proud member of the Yoe Fire Company and a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Dallastown, where he found community, purpose, and spiritual strength.
He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn; his daughter, Rebecca Bloodsworth; his son, Erik Steinfelt; and two cherished grandchildren, Joseph Griffith and Katharine Griffith, as well as his son in law, Michael Griffith. He is also survived by his brother Tom Steinfelt, and sisters Rose Marie Hivner and Jane Rutledge.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Annette Griffith; his brother, Richard Steinfelt; and sister-in-law Nancy Steinfelt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at St. Joseph Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, PA. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Yoe Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, Dallastown, or Christ Methodist Church of Yoe.

MARILYN, I just saw the obit for JOE. I was so sad to read that your life long love has passed away. I guess you know mine left me also. I am now living at Senior Commons. I'm only in my first week. I have an apartment and made so many friends. I will keep you in my prayers. Your friend JOAN STABLEY ( FOLKENROTH)
