Joseph M. "Big Joe" Thompson

Joseph "Big Joe" M. Thompson, 49, of Florence, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2023. Joe was a die-hard University of Kentucky basketball fan. He was an avid golfer who also loved playing card games with his buddies and board games with his family. Joe was a wonderful family man who enjoyed assisting in the planning of family functions, holidays and get-togethers and was known to have the biggest smile. "Big Joe" will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his niece, Courtney Thompson. Joe is survived by his mother, Terry Glossinger (Jim McKenzie); father, Charles (Tammy) Thompson; daughter, Summer Thompson (Stephen Day); grandson, Hunter Day; brother, Chris Thompson (Kasee Wilson); sister, Melissa Thompson and nephews, Donovan & Christopher Taylor, Kingston Thompson and Kane Leistner. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 22 from 1-3PM at Stith Funeral Homes, Florence. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
