I knew Joe from our early years in New Brighton.
If you had Joe as a friend, you had a friend for life.
All who knew him will miss this good, funny, caring guy.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
May GOD forever hold Joe in the Hallow of HIS Hand.

Mike Browne ret. FDNY
Had the privilege and great memories of working with Joe during those chaotic years in the South Bronx. He was a star among a galaxy of stars. He will be missed.

The first time I met Joe was when I was invited to his birthday party in NYC .... I think it was his 70th. I was invited by his wife, Lucille. She and I met in 1971 when we both started working at Merrill Lynch and struck up a great friendship that continues today. I found Joe to be charming, funny, interesting and an all-around good guy. He is an American hero having served as a fireman with the incredible FDNY and I remember being so impressed with that! I was only in his presence a few times after that, but almost every time I was on the phone with Lucille over the years he either yelled a great big "hello Emily" into the phone or got on the phone to say something that always made me laugh. Lucille always let me know when Joe won medals at his sports events (which was all the time). My overall impression of him is that he was larger than life. My heart breaks for Lucille and Alessandra (Alex)...I know what a great stepfather he was to Lucille´s daughter from a very early age. My condolences also to Joe´s children and grandchildren. Rest in Peace Dear Joe; you´ve definitely earned your heavenly wings.
