Joseph Rudolph Vitale Jr. of Lake St. Louis, MO, passed away on June 16, 2024 at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Vitale (nee: Langelier) of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri; He is survived by his son, David (Heather) Vitale of Dardenne Prairie, MO; daughter, Michelle Flynn of Wentzville, MO; Son-in-law, John Flynn of St. Charles, MO; sister-in-law, Janet Vitale of FL; grandchildren, Thomas (Aly) Flynn, Katie (Brian) Baker, Miles Vitale, Dylan Vitale; great-grandchild, Baby (Henry "Hank") on the way in July-2024; cousin, Susan (Tom) Butler.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Rudolph Vitale, Sr., mother, Lillian Ann Vitale (nee:Powell), brother, Gerald Vitale, brother, Michael Vitale, sister-in-law, Wanda Vitale.
As a young man Joseph helped run a BBQ Garden with his Mother and Father. Joseph served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war conflict. Joseph and Nancy were married for 62 years and from this union two children were born; David and Michelle. He worked as a Post Master for 5 years, providing wonderful community service to Hazelwood, Bridgeton and Maryland Heights postal offices. He then went on to work for McDonnell Douglas for 30 plus years.
He was a member of the retirees club, Sages. He was a past member of the Knights Of Columbus, and Kiwanis club.
Joseph spent a lot of time boating and enjoyed fishing or just relaxing on the water. Joseph and Nancy loved to travel and visited many places such as: Europe, Bahamas, Hawaii, Canada, and Cancun to name a few.
After their traveling years, and for the last 25 years, Joseph and Nancy bought a farm in Montgomery County, where you would always find Joseph doing something, whether it was mowing, chain sawing, building things (he even helped build his Dads house), or doing hayrides with the family. He was a very hard worker. He enjoyed the church dinners and would go to the yearly picnics at the Parish.
Joseph was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
