Joseph Elvis Wages, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 10, 1956 in Laurinburg, NC to the late Clyde Bilby Wages and Asilee Smith Wages, and was the husband to Glenda Jean Winfree Wages of 34 years who survive.
Joseph retired after 32 years with Nederman Textiles. He enjoyed fishing, welding projects and playing cards with his friends.
Survivors other than his wife, Glenda Jean Wages include his children, Joann Tinsley and husband Trey, Jessica Wages and husband Ryan, and Chuck Isenhour and wife Marie; grandchildren, Camron Falls, Brianna Jimenez, Desmond Lofton and Alexandria Lofton; a great grandchild, Eleyna Jimenez; a brother, Ray Wages; a sister, Gail Hillen; and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jimmy Wages and his sisters, Patsy Hudson and Carolyn Wright.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by Rev. J.D. Weed. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, 221 Piedmont Ave., Gibsonville, NC 27249 in memory of Joseph Elvis Wages. You may send condolences to www.lowefuneralhome.com.
