Joseph John Weschules, 79, of Pottsville passed away peacefully Saturday November 15, 2025, at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born in Minersville December 4, 1945, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Uhrie) Weschules Kostura.

He was a 1964 graduate of Minersville High School, where he played football for the Battlin' Miners. He served in the PA National Guard and worked for PP&L for over 25 years. An avid hunter, he loved the outdoors and was a talented carver of duck decoys. Joe will also be remembered for his hospitality at family gatherings.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish of Minersville and the former St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Fidler) Weschules earlier this year. He is survived by a son Douglas Weschules and his wife Kimberly of Downingtown; 2 Grandchildren Max and Emily Weschules; Sister Kathryn Maxwell; Nephew Ronald Melusky.

Graveside services at St. Francis Cemetery will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 16 N. 4th St. Minersville, PA 17954.
