**Obituary for Joseph Elsworth Whiting Jr.**
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Elsworth Whiting Jr., a beloved husband, father, friend, and cherished member of the Fort Washington community. Joe was born on November 1, 1950, in Washington, DC, and he departed this world on October 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Joe lived a life devoted to his family and his work as an auto mechanic, where his skill and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. His tenacious spirit and unwavering work ethic were evident in all that he did. Though he completed his education in the 9th grade, his knowledge of automobiles and genuine desire to help others truly defined his life's work and contributions to the community.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Linda Whiting, who was his partner through life's many journeys. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and support. Joe's family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind fond memories that will be cherished for generations.
We pay our respects and celebrate his life-a life well-lived, characterized by hard work, compassion, and an unwavering love for his family. Joe will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In this time of mourning, all prayers, thoughts, and memories shared will be immensely appreciated. May he rest in peace.
Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Earnestine Whiting
