The DiBiase family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Josephine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Josephine DiBiase, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully at home, on May 18, 2025 at the age of 95.
She was born on March 18, 1930 the beloved daughter of the late Giuseppe and Carmela (Latassa) Gallace, in the picturesque town of Fabrizia, Italy.
Josephine migrated to the US, from the beautiful hills of Italy to the vibrant streets of New York, where she embraced life's challenges with grace and fortitude.
After settling in her new homeland, Josephine's heart was captivated by a young Julio DiBiase, whom she married on September 9, 1961. Together they had three beautiful children, a testament to their enduring love.
She is survived by two of her loving children, Julio DiBiase and his wife Regina, and Maria DiBiase Zeolla, her three cherished grandchildren, Jovan Tesone (Justin), Gabriella DiBiase, and Joseph DiBiase, as well as her two adored great-grandchildren, Nico and Nella. She also leaves behind her dear brother Pompeo Gallace and his wife Alice along with many nieces and nephews.
Though life was good to Josephine, her heart ached with the loss of her beautiful son Joseph in 1979, and again when her beloved husband Julio passed away after 50 years of marriage in 2011, as well as her three siblings, Francescina Gambardella, Tony Gallace, and Bruno Gallace, but she continued to embody resilience and boundless love for those around her.
Josephine's life was marked by an enduring commitment to her family and faith. She poured her heart into nurturing her loved ones, often gathering them at her table to enjoy the heartwarming flavors of her Italian cooking.
Her devotion to her faith was reflected in her steadfast participation at St. John the Evangelist Church, attending daily Mass with unwavering dedication, and later cherishing the EWTN network's broadcasts when she could no longer attend in person. Her intimate relationship with faith was evident in her daily recitation of the rosary, a practice she never missed, a testament to her nurturing spirit. Josephine was proud of her Italian heritage, which shined through the love and care she put into her cooking and the joy she found in sharing a meal with her family.
Above all, Josephine relished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which were the greatest joys of her life. The love she cultivated within her family will continue to bloom for generations to come.
Josephine DiBiase, the epitome of loving and faith-filled devotion, she leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, unshakable faith, and a family forged in the strength of her love.
Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were graced by her love.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Josephine's life will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 221 E Lake Blvd, Mahopac, NY 10541.
Following Mass, Josephine will be escorted to her final resting place alongside her beloved husband, Julio DiBiase, and their son, Joseph DiBiase, in Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, NY.
