Josephine Kois, 83, of Waynesburg, formerly of Mather and Dilliner, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, with her children by her side. Born on December 7, 1942, in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Nick and Catherine (Evosevich) Retus.
Josephine graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School. On October 10, 1969, she married Terry Kois, of whom she shared 23 years of marriage before his passing in April of 1993. Josephine retired from Greene County Memorial Hospital in 2007, after having worked twenty years as a registration clerk.
Josephine had a love for travel that led her to beautiful destinations, including Italy, Greece, and Switzerland. Gardening and planting flowers brought her great joy. On Sundays in the fall, she enjoyed watching her Pittsburgh Steelers. She also had a love for shopping.
She leaves behind her son, Terry Kois of Dilliner, and her daughter, Lori Kois of Waynesburg, along with several nieces and nephews.
