Josephine McRae Obituary

She married the love of her life Clayton McRae and the two share many years of wedded bliss until his passing. She worked tirelessly for the Alamance County Developmental Mental Health Program for several years.
Mother McRae was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and she fellowshipped for many years at Gospel Tabernacle United Holy Church. During her membership she was honored to be a part of the Mothers Board, President of the Baptismal Committee, Choir member and Past-Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. She believed in praising God, at all times through all things.
While she never had any biological children, following the passing of her sister, Ester Britt, she and Clayton reared her three children, Charles R. Britt, Calvin J. Britt and Jeanne Britt, of which Charles and Jeanne preceded her in death. She was the last survivor of her sisters, Levonia R. Nichols, Macy Reaves, Esther Britt and Nora Britt Enoch.
Mother McRae leaves cherished memories to her son Calvin J. Britt; a bonus stepson, Vernell Little (Octavia); a host of devoted and caring nieces and nephews, cousins, her Gospel Tabernacle UHC family and dear friends acquired over the years.
