Josephine "Josie" Naumann, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on January 24, 1934, in Trieste, Italy, Josephine immigrated to the United States as a teenager and spent the next 72 years building a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria Rahel (née Suban), and a devoted mother to Sharon and her husband Rick, Richard, David, Dan, Mary and her husband Mike, Roger and his wife Sue, Joe, and the late Loretta.
Affectionately known as "Nona," Josephine was cherished by her grandchildren: Ricky, Vernon, Chucky, Zack, Nick, David, Katie, Jake, Frankie, Grace, Jude, Marchello, Lauren, Samantha, A.J., and the late Parker. Her legacy continues through her 17 great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Josephine had a passion for gardening and a love for all things pink. A skilled seamstress, she was known for mending the holes in her grandchildren's "fashionable" jeans with a smile. She found joy in cooking for her loved ones, with favorites including her chicken and broccoli fettuccine Alfredo and her famous pizzelle cookies. She also had a soft spot for takeout shrimp lo Mein.
In the evenings, you could find her watching Dancing with the Stars or cheering on the Ravens or Orioles. Josephine was a strong, family-oriented woman whose warmth and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Josephine's life on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, Maryland, 21234. A Visitation will be held from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM, with a prayer service at 3:30PM. Cremation to conclude all services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Josephine's name to BARCS (Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter), 2490 Giles Road, Baltimore, MD 21225.
