Josephine Neher

Josephine Neher, of Philadelphia, passed away on August 9th, 2024 at the age of 75. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Neher, Jr.; devoted mother of Mike Neher (Marie), Tom Neher (the late Chris), and Al Neher; loving grandmother of Michael, Jr., Shane, Ryan (Brooke), Meghan, and Taylor; loving great grandmother of Owen; and cherished sister of Barbara Crossland, Elaine Myers (Thomas), and William Crossland (the late Betty). Josephine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
Josephine was born and raised in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. She married her husband Alfred when she was 18. They lived for some time in Connecticut when Al was in the Navy, and they eventually settled in Olney, Philadelphia where they raised their family. Josephine was devoted mother and homemaker. She loved being with her family, and her grandchildren. She loved watching their sporting events. Josephine was avid Phillies fan, and enjoyed going to games. She will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to Josephine's Life Celebration on Sunday, August 18th from 3 – 5 PM at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's name to the American Heart Association.
