Josephine Rose Perrone

Perrone, Josephine Rose (nee Visco) age 103 formerly of Budd Lake, after a long and beautiful life, passed away Monday February 19, 2024 following a brief illness. Born in Newark, NJ she grew up and lived many years in East Orange and later Belleville, NJ before moving to Budd Lake in the late 1990s.
Daughter of the late Raphaelle and Maria Louise (nee Rago) Visco, Josephine had worked in the family business Visco Sporting Goods Newark, NJ and as a sales consultant for Jeanette Nutley Center. Josephine was also a Seamstress for many years before her marriage to the late Alfred F. Perrone who passed away in 2015. A devout Catholic, she had been a Parishioner of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Nutley as well as Saint Michaels Roman Catholic Church of Netcong, NJ. She was also a former member of the Mount Olive Senior Citizens.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Josephine was predeceased by her sisters Grace Trancone, Marietta Funicello and Jennie Battista as well as her brothers Angelo, Anthony, Euplio (Albie)., and Frank Visco. She is survived by her loving daughter Maria Grace Perrone and her husband Andre Von Suppiny of Byram Twp. and her son Carl and his wife Fran Perrone of Port St. Lucie Florida. Also surviving are her five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday February 23, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main Street (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ 07860. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday morning February 24, 2024 at 8 AM in the Saint Michaels Roman Catholic Church #4 Church St. Netcong, NJ. Burial at the Glendale Cemetery #28 Hoover Ave. Belleville, NJ will immediately follow the Mass.
