Stephen Perrone Obituary

Steve R. Perrone "Santa" Aug 28, 1953- July 16, 2025 Steve (71) of North Haven: formerly New Haven, Guilford, Hamden, died suddenly on July 16th with his loving family by his side. Steve was born the eldest of 4 boys to Stephen J and the late Adeline "Toby" Perrone. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Navy his senior year of Highschool, where he proudly served for 4 years. Soon after being honorably discharged, Steve married the love of his life, Carol. The two have been happily married for a wonderful 45 years. Their marriage exemplified what true love looks like, devotion, nurturing, joy and laughter; a true storybook romance! This love produced their only child, Amanda. Small in number, but big on love, their family enjoyed weekend camping and long summer vacations, visiting many states and riding many roller coasters. The true shining star in his life occurred with the birth of Amanda and Tricia's daughter, his granddaughter Madison. The bond and love these two shared was seen and felt by all who encountered them. He was the proudest Papa! Steve worked for 32 years for the U.S. Postal Service, delivering mail and making many friends along the way. However, he truly came to life every December, cheerfully taking on the role of Santa. His kind nature, jolly demeanor, and sparkle in his eye made everyone around him a true believer, creating magical holiday memories. Besides his immediate family, he is survived by his father Stephen J. Perrone of Hamden, brothers Donald (Debra) of Northford, Ronald (Michelle) of Stephen's City, VA, Robert (Heidi) of Madison, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit on Sunday July 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday July 21st, followed by a procession to the All Saints Cemetery, North Haven where a committal service with Military Honors will take place. washingtonmemorialfh.com To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Stephen R. Steve (Pop's), Ronnie, Donnie, and Bobby, so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. We had great times together in the "hood". I will always remember the times Steve and I had together, driving around and having "fun". RIP my friend.

I was honored to have "Santa" as my friend. He looked forward to spending time with her Carol every minute. Tag Sales, Olive Garden, driving around being with family just together. Their adorable "I love you exchanges" we a "True Love story". The title of grandpa he wore proudly if he could attend it...there he was cheering at... sports activities, mock trial, school and community plays and band performances. He was Santa undeniable and looked forward to seeing how generations of families grew and remembered him as their "Santa". Stephen will be missed by everyone.
