Josephine Stellman, beloved wife, mother, grand mother, sister and aunt, recently passed away at age 84.
Left behind were mourners whose lives she touched daily.
Born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in Sydney, Australia, Josie and her deceased sister Toni spent much of their youth in Europe. She loved Italy, where Josie spent 2 of their 4 years.
Her first husband Dick, a Vietnam veteran on R&R, brought her to California in 1969. Following a stormy divorce, she married an adoring John in 1971.
Years later, she faced numerous life threatening challenges.
Diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Josie was given a 5% chance of surviving. Not only did she beat those odds, but she survived two lung cancer surgeries (losing a lobe in each lung), a heart attack (a stint was implanted) and breast cancer.
But that didn't stop her from enjoying the eventual arrival of sons Jason and Justin and grandchildren Ainsley, Maddoc, Fiona, William and Benjamin.
She is also survived by brother Tim and nephew Alex Jacobs, who will miss her as well.
Josie's influence on those who loved her was incredible. A true inspiration, she will be remembered forever and never be forgotten.
