Josephine Stenback Obituary
She was born in Voluntown CT to Erik and Hilda (Kuikko) Suominen on October 25, 1924. After living in Russia for four (4) years, the family moved to the Bronx, NY where she completed her education.
On January 19th, 1945 she married Reino J. Stenback. In 1960 they moved to East Killingly, CT where Josie worked as a bookkeeper for Belding Chemical Industries in Grosvenordale CT for over 25 years.
Josie was predeceased by her husband Reino, her brother Edward Suominen, and her sister, Ingrid Auer. She is survived by her niece Arlene and her husband Arthur H. Roberts, grandniece Sharon VanDyke (Chris), and grand-nephew Arthur W. Roberts (Lisa).
She was a member of Aura Seura Voluntown, Finnish American Heritage Society, and Killingly Grange #112.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th, 2025 from 10am to 11am at the Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield, CT. which will include a Memorial Service. Burial will immediately follow at Riiverside Cemetery / Oneco Cemetery in Sterling,CT.
