Joshua Allen Bertram was born on October 26, 1980, in Wayne County, KY. He entered into eternity on June 28, 2024, at the young age of 43, leaving behind so many who love him, and whose hearts are forever changed.
Josh was an adventurous soul. From an early age, he loved all things outdoors-hunting, fishing, and ginseng hunting among anything else he could get into. He was a mischievous child of the very best kind. Later in life, he became a proud, doting uncle to Maddyn and Cooper, passing on his mischievous tendencies to his nephews who regard him as the "coolest uncle ever".
Most recently, he found his passion in working with his cousin Cody. He was so excited to work and travel and see new things. He was happy, thriving, and recently remarked that his life was "absolutely blessed."
Josh dedicated his life to Christ at an early age, and he longed for the day he was to enter Heaven. He truly embraced the beauty in simplicity, living in the present, and in all the goodness of life. If you were lucky enough to know him, you were a better person for it.
Josh leaves behind his mother, Robbie Bertram, his sister, Ashley (Kim) Brake, his brother Lucas Bertram, and his nephews, Maddyn and Cooper Brake. There are a host of family and friends who grieve his loss as well.
However, our loss is Heaven's gain. Josh has received the ultimate prize, being reunited with his late father, James, and other family members who have gone before him. He is resting in the arms of Jesus for eternity where he has been made new.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Josh Bertram Memorial Fund, c/o Hickey Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 11 AM – 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 1 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Catron Cemetery.
