Saginaw, Michigan

Our loving Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Dear Friend passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2024.  He was 43 years old. The son of Edward & Nancy Brown, and the late Theresa (Hatzke) Brown, Josh was born January 11, 1981, in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1999. Josh held several degrees including a degree in Radiology from Delta College and one in Information Technology from American InterContinental University in Atlanta.  Josh went on to earn a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He worked for several years as a radiographer at Covenant Saginaw and Bay Regional Medical Center. Josh was an IT Director at Anthelio Healthcare Services Lansing for several years before moving on to the IT Director at the Saginaw County Courthouse. He married Brandy Lynn Murphy on September 27, 2013. She survives him.

While his jobs were important and his degrees impressive, nothing was more important to him than his two girls, Paityn (Lil’ Bit) and Avery (Aves) Brown. Everything he did was in consideration of his children. To meet him was to feel like you’ve known him your entire life. His laughter, kindness, and loyalty were truly one of a kind. He was the friend and companion you wanted to have, and simultaneously the friend and companion you’d someday hope to be. He loved spending time with his kids, friends and family, and his dogs who will be truly lost without him.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Brandy Brown; children, Paityn, Avery and stepson Landon; parents, Ed and Nancy Brown; brothers and sisters, Aiyden Brown, Ben (Deanna) Hamann, Amy (Chad) Kingsbury, and Mackenzie Brown. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly. Josh is preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Brown; sister, Christy Brown; grandmother, Lois Brown; and grandparents, Joseph & Elizabeth Hatzke.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at The Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave, Saginaw, MI 48607. Rev. Fr. Adam P. Maher will officiate with Rite of Committal to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass on Tuesday at the Cathedral. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to his two young daughters, in c/o Ed Brown.

Josh recently said, “Take pictures and shoot videos. Make memories. You’ll never get that time back again.” He was right. Make the time, make the memories. Life is too short.
