Joshua Michael Downey tragically passed away on Nov. 29th and returned to the loving arms of the Lord. Josh is survived by his beautiful and beloved wife Denise and their precious baby daughter Annie. Josh is also survived by his family. His mother Carolyn Downey and her partner Kevin Flesher, his father Dave Capino and his wife Diana Capino, his grandmother Darlene Hurtig and her husband Joel Hurting, his grandfather Thomas Downey and his wife Barbara Downey, his siblings Julian, Annabelle and Nick Capino, his Uncle Chris Downey, his wife Kim Downey, his niece Brenna Downey, his nephews Garret and Connor Downey, his Uncle Gary Williams, his Aunt Betsy Hurtig, his cousin Shelia Kaufman, her husband Sanjay Nand, and his cousin Sachin Nand. Josh was also much loved by all of his wife's family in Brazil. Josh was born on March 30, 1990 and was raised surrounded by love and faith by his grandmother Darlene and grandfather Joel. Josh grew up in Towson and went on to study at Loyola University where he graduated with honors with a double Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting. Josh excelled in his career and was most recently Senior Manager at KatzAbosch where he was very respected. Josh excelled at everything he did including his many passions in life. He was a talented and skilled woodworker who had built his own workshop and enjoyed spending time making beautiful pieces and projects. Josh was an expert chess player whose dedication and intelligence made him a formidable competitor. Josh was an avid reader and had an extensive home library. He loved to hike and rock climb. Josh was also an avid traveler who traveled across the US and the world, one of his favorite places was Key West. Josh loved to eat, he enjoyed the comfort of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, lots of pasta, and the Brazilian food his wife Denise would lovingly cook. Josh had the most beautiful smile, infectious laugh, kind soul, sharp mind, incredible intelligence, passion for life and learning new things but most of all Josh loved his family. His sweet wife Denise and his beautiful daughter Annie who is also his twin were the great loves of his life. Josh left a legacy of love and he will be loved and missed until we meet him again in Heaven.

Josh was a close friend and I will always remember the good times we had together. Getting a bite at Andy Nelson's BBQ, wing night at Bateman's with Josh, Dan, and Zach, watching the Super Bowl, or the many times we just hung out working on our cars or doing yardwork, Josh had a way about him that would make you feel important. He was a great listener. We enjoyed talking about cars, the newest tools he bought for his woodshop, his chess tournaments and the time he spent over 10 hours in one chess tournament to beat a reknown player, cool vacation destinations, work, finance, and more recently his new life as a husband and as a father. He loved his family very much. Josh was going to be a groomsmen in me and my fiance Addi's wedding this coming spring and he was so excited talking about the wedding planning and bachelor party in the mountains of NC. We are comforted to know he will be there in spirit. The happy memories with Josh will always live on. Rest easy my friend.
