Joshua "Josh" Alfred Edmondson, 31, passed away on July 22, 2024, in Orangeburg County, SC. Born on March 7, 1993, Josh attended Windsor Hill Elementary School, Oakbrook Middle School, and Fort Dorchester High School before obtaining his Associate's Degree in Biology from Reynold's Community College in Richmond, VA. He then went on to further his education at the College of Charleston. Josh was a beacon of kindness, humor, intelligence, and thoughtfulness. His free spirit and golden heart brought joy to everyone he met. Though often quiet and reserved, Josh was a deep thinker whose curiosity led him to explore the deeper meanings of the world around him. He was passionate about nature and often found peace in the beauty and serenity of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and dedicated bowler who brought energy and enthusiasm to all his pursuits. Josh enjoyed preparing meals and eagerly experimented with new recipes and cuisines. He would jovially refer to himself as "Chef Josh" and took his role as a self-anointed amateur food critic a little too seriously, much to the delight, and sometimes chagrin, of his family. Josh loved animals, especially his furbaby Ferra, who held a special place in his heart. Josh's love for his family and friends was unwavering. He cherished the moments spent with them, creating memories that will be forever treasured. His warmth, generosity, and presence will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Joshua is survived by his parents, Richard Alfred Edmondson, Jr. of Goose Creek, SC, and Joe Ann Aiken of Sumter, SC; siblings Desiree M. Edmondson and Tabitha N. Edmondson of Chesterfield, VA, Richard A. Edmondson III of Las Vegas, NV and Matthew Edmondson; grandmother, Ernestine Edmondson of Chicago, IL; aunts: Carmen Martinez (Gerardo), Lisa Selvie (Johnnie) of Chicago, IL, Minnie Johnson of Sumter, SC, Mary Clark of Sumter, SC, Deborah (Bennie) Johnson of Sumter, SC, Lillie (Eddie) Williams of Sumter, SC, Helen (Perry) Edwards of Sumter, SC, Loretta (John) Osborne of Rembert, SC, and Jaqueline Holliday of Dazell, S; uncles, Derrick Edmondson of Ocala, Fl, Kevin (Brenda) Edmondson of Jacksonville, Ms, Lawrence (Arthelia) Baxter of Sumter, SC, and Robert (Delores) Baxter of Sumter, SC; Godmother, Gail A. Jones of Orlando, FL; Godparents, Mike and Sandra Wooten of Rock Hill, SC; close friends, Tyler Burnell, Ryan Johnson, Brian Shilling, and Catherine Woods; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends. Memorial services to celebrate Joshua's life will be held at City Church of Charleston, 913 Wappoo Road, Charleston, SC 29407, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 12 p.m
