Robert "Grady" Jeffery, 62, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, May 24, 2025, after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer.
Born on July 24, 1962, in Lexington, SC, Grady was the beloved son of the late Charles and Sybil Jeffery. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Krystal White.
Grady is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Sally Beckett-Jeffery; his children, Lily Jeffery (21) and Robert "Bryce" Jeffery (18); his brothers Tommy (Vanessa) Jeffery, Steve (Cathy) Jeffery, and James (Grace) Jeffery; and his sister Lori (Tim) White. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
A man of deep faith, abundant warmth, and boundless generosity, Grady brought joy wherever he went. He had a rare gift for connection, never meeting a stranger and always offering a smile, a story, or a helping hand. He was the heart of every gathering and a loyal, steadfast friend.
Above all, Grady was a devoted family man. He embraced life with passion, whether fishing, racing RC cars, riding dirt bikes, or striking up conversations with anyone in his path. A close friend once said Grady's exuberant personality could take him around the world with just five dollars-and few would argue.
Grady's entrepreneurial spirit began early with a $25 car detailing business in his parents' garage. That same drive and creativity led him to establish several successful ventures, most recently Jeffery Builders, a custom home-building business he poured his heart into. He took great pride in helping families bring their dream homes to life and treasured the friendships built along the way.
Grady was a faithful member of St. Peter's Church and lived each day rooted in love, service, and gratitude.
The Jeffery family extends heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary team of nurses on 4 East at MUSC Ashley River Tower. For five months, they expertly cared for Grady and his family with love, compassion, and unwavering support. They are, in every sense, angels on Earth. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Lamb Institute, a ministry in Honduras serving children who have experienced abuse and neglect-a cause close to Grady's heart.
A celebration of Grady's life will be held in late July, near what would have been his 63rd birthday. The family will share further details on Facebook in the coming weeks.

Well, I suppose his obituary says it all! Every time I saw Grady no matter where we were, He always had time to stop and talk and always had that big smile on his face. I remember talking with him after a fishing trip and how excited he was about the birth of his first child Lily.
" chatterbox" was always so full of energy and he will be missed. Our condolences to the family.

My deepest condolences to Grady´s family. I met Grady 12-13 years ago by chance sitting at Tasi´s in Mount Pleasant. I was a frequent patron there & was watching NASCAR practice on the tv & Grady came in & sat next to me. We struck up a conversation about racing and shared his love & passion for taking his son to the dirt bike races. We instantly became friends & kept in touch with each other. I´m saddened to learn of his passing. Grady was so full of life & I´m so glad I was able to get to know him & be a friend. Rest Easy Grady!

My "sweet friend." The first time I met Grady, I knew I met a brother in Christ before we even spoke. Getting to know Grady and his sweet family over the past months has been a true blessing that I will cherish for a lifetime. I´ve never met anyone as special as him, and I can only imagine what your reaction was meeting our guy JC for the first time. Your light will continue on. I can´t wait to see you again, my friend.

Sally, Lily, and Bryce, I am praying so hard for your healing during this grief. God is so close to the brokenhearted. Whatever yall need, I am here.

I know words cannot heal the ache in your hearts, but know my thoughts and prayers are with you all and hoping for comfort. Grady was a special man and as his obituary outlined, a friend to all. I only knew him over the last few months as his nurse and despite his struggles, always brought a smile to my face. He will always be remembered.

Such a great guy and such a great builder. I met Grady 15 years ago and we were both starting to build a bunch of custom homes with our businesses. We shared sub contractors and watched each others back. He was a tremendous mentor and a great friend. The world will be a lot less fun and I will miss him dearly. Much love to his family and to all his friends. Grady was the best!!!
