Joshua Timothy Hicks, 42 of Bruno, WV departed this life on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV. He was born on January 4th, 1983, in Man, WV to Kathy (Stacey) Hicks and the late Jack Carroll Hicks. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Iva Lea Stacey and Lora Evans; uncles, Tony Hicks and Rick Stacey; and nieces, Brittany Nicole Hicks and Allie Hicks.
He enjoyed fishing and loved his family. He worked as a coal miner for Ramaco.
Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his wife of eighteen years, Angel Hicks; mother, Kathy Hicks; son, Chase (Deidra) Hicks; brothers, Willie (Lisa) Hicks, James Hicks, and Robert Stacy: three grandchildren, Aislyn Browning, Jaxon Milton, and Serenity Milton; his in-laws, Connie (Ray) Belcher; best friend, Caleb Adkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Friday, August 8th, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer, WV.
Per his request, he asked everyone to not wear anything black to mourn him, but to come and celebrate his life and wear colorful colors. At the end of the service, the family will be doing a balloon release in honor of Josh. The family asks you bring your own balloons.
