With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected death of Joshua Caleb Hunt (25) on October 2, 2025. He was born March 4, 2000 in Fayetteville, NC. Joshua graduated from Rockfish Christian Academy in 2017. Joshua worked in maintenance at Carpenter Contractors of America Inc. where he was a dedicated employee. He loved his job. He could fix just about anything. His real happy place was at a pond somewhere, seeing how many fish he could catch and throw back in. Joshua had a smile that would light up a room. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Joshua is proceeded in death by his Grandfather, Oliver Powers; Great Grandmother, Cynthia Brooks; and Great Grandparents, Curtis & Jessie B. Chavis.
Joshua is survived by his Mother, Robin Caldwell Hunt of Grays Creek; Father, Jamie Hunt (Terri) of Fairmont; his only Brother, Blake Skipper (Elizabeth) of Rockfish; Grandparents, Paternal Grandparents James Earl & Hattie Hunt of Lumberton; Maternal Grandparents, Anthony & Tana Caldwell of McColl, SC; Faye Powers of Grays Creek; like Grandparents, Kathy & Larry Jacobs of Fayetteville; Aunt, Shani Chavis; Uncle, Manning Caldwell; like an Aunt, Tonya Jones; special Niece, Chassidy Skipper; Nephew, Waylon Skipper; his barking best buddy, Booger Hunt; along with a host of Cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2025, at LaFayette Funeral home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304, followed by the funeral service at 3:00pm with Bishop James Hunt Officiating.
Burial will follow in Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery, 3219 Lindsay Road, Raeford, NC 28376.
