Obituary of Joshua Daniel Loftus
Joshua Daniel "Josh" Loftus, 44, a lifetime resident of Point Pleasant, New Jersey passed away on June 4, 2024. Josh was born on January 28, 1980, in Point Pleasant to loving mother the late Kimberly Loftus. Josh grew up in Point Pleasant, and after the tragic death of his mother was taken care of by his great-grandparents the late Ardele and Herbert Loftus. Josh graduated from Point Pleasant Borough High School in 1998 and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service Josh, like his great-grandfather, grandfather, and uncle worked for the News paper union NMDU for over 10 years. Following his time with the union Josh started a few small businesses but he was most passionate about his work as the owner of the Garden State Clean Team which he started in 2021.
Josh had many interests and hobbies throughout his life, but one passion that stayed with him the whole way through was personal fitness. Josh loved lifting weights and working out in any way he could no matter if it was pumping iron in a gym or biking 50 miles up and down the boardwalk. Josh was so dedicated to his fitness he even competed in multiple physique competitions and worked with many others to help them with their training and nutrition regiments. Josh loved being outside, especially during the winter months when he could go snowboarding and enjoyed travelling to different mountains from the tri-state area to Colorado. Josh will be missed by all that knew him and will always be remembered for his caring personality and soft smile that could light up a room.
Josh is survived by his Aunts and Uncles: Keith and Raishah, Karen and Marcus, William and Sarah, and Craig, he is also survived by cousins: Keith, Kurt, Tara, Sabrina, Xavier, William, Chelsea, Brandon, Tyler, Trevor, Gabrielle, Hayden, grandmother Judy and a long list of extended family.
Josh is predeceased by his mother Kimberly Loftus, his brother John Johnson, grandparents Athena Costas and William Loftus, and by his great-grandparents Ardele and Herbert Loftus.
Friends and Family are welcome to gather for a Memorial Celebration of Josh's life that will be held on Sunday June 9, 2024 from 2pm until 5pm at Waypoint 622 located at 622 Green Avenue, Brielle, New Jersey 08730.
