Joshua "Josh" Michael Martin, also known as Solid, of Waupaca, unexpectedly passed away following an automobile accident on November 1, 2024, at the age of 46.
Josh was born March 27, 1978 in Chippewa Falls, WI; son of Mary (nee Swan) Zillges and the late Michael A. Martin. At a young age, he relocated to the Oshkosh area where he enjoyed playing softball and hanging out at Garbage Hill Skatepark and Pollock Pool. He attended local schools and graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1997.
Following high school, Josh joined the workforce and began a career in sales. He spent many years as a salesman before deciding to make a career change and go back to college. Being a man of resilience, he made a goal to do something to help people. He chose to begin working towards becoming an AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) Counselor.
Outside of his career, Josh was a devoted father to his three children. Josh and Michelle welcomed a son, Sebastian, and later, Josh and Kelley welcomed daughters, Olivia and Harlee. Josh loved spending time with his children. However, every year, Josh looked forward to making favorite memories with his mother and his children on their annual vacations.
Josh had another love that ran deep in him; motorcycles. He loved riding his motorcycle anywhere and everywhere. He made numerous trips to Sturgis with his father and close friends. He was even an original founding member of Area Code Riders (ACR). Josh also enjoyed working on cars, drawing, watching movies, listening to music, and mowing the lawn - he loved to mow the lawn! Above all else, Josh loved spending time with his close friends and family. When Josh loved something or someone, he was passionate about it. His loyal and protective nature made those around him feel loved and safe with him.
Josh is lovingly survived by his son, Sebastian Martin; his daughters, Olivia (Ethan Stengel) and Harlee Martin; his mother, Mary Zillges; and his grandmothers, Kathleen Swan and Betty Jean Martin. He is further survived by his sister, Tina Zillges; his very special friends, Rodney and Brenda Anderson and Jerry Ashley; his ACR brothers; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Michael Martin; his step-father, Jeff Zillges; and his grandfathers, Roman Swan and Harold Martin.
For those wishing to express their sympathies, the family humbly requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be given to be used towards expenses for the cremation and Celebration of Life.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Josh's honor on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Winkler's Westward Ho - 4905 County Highway S, Oshkosh, WI.
