Joshua Moore, a beloved son, grandson, and friend, left this world far too soon on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina. Born on July 2, 1986, in the picturesque Haywood County, Joshua's life was a tapestry woven with laughter, kindness, and an undeniable zest for beauty in both people and the world around him.
As a cook and bartender, Joshua embodied a passion for culinary arts that extended beyond mere food preparation. He had a gift for orchestrating flavors and transforming simple ingredients into exquisite feasts. His love for cooking was paralleled only by his commitment to presenting it beautifully, ensuring that every meal was an experience meant to be savored. His laughter had the power to lighten the heaviest of hearts, and his intelligence, paired with his handsomeness, made him a captivating presence in any room he entered.
After proudly graduating from high school, Joshua pursued a career in cosmetology, where he honed his inherent talents in hair and makeup. His creative abilities flourished as he embraced the art of enhancing beauty, effectively demonstrating the depth of his caring nature for all those who sought his touch. With a big heart, he dedicated himself to uplifting others, sharing in their stories and offering unwavering support through the trials of life.
Joshua's passions extended well beyond his professional pursuits. He thrived in the vibrant atmosphere of concerts, where music resonated with his spirit, and cherished the joy of gathering with friends and loved ones. Each memory created with those he adored is a testament to the deep connections he nurtured throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Tammy Jane Buchanan, and her partner, Steve Farmer. The legacy of love continues with his cherished grandmother, Mary Ellen Buchanan, as well as a multitude of aunts and uncles—Deborah Underwood, Daniel D. Buchanan, Ellen B. Frizzell, Inger Buchanan, and Manuel V. Buchanan. The hearts of countless cousins and friends will forever hold his memory dear, a reminder of the light he brought into their lives.
Joshua joins in eternal rest his grandfather, Julian Buchanan, Sr., and his uncle, Julian Buchanan, Jr., who now embrace him with open arms.
A visitation in honor of Joshua will be held on February 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Wells Funeral Home in Canton, NC, followed by a graveside service at Bethel Community Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
