Joshua Lee Roach, 39, of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025. He was born November 21, 1986, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Rick Roach and Tammy Brummett Whewell. He married the love of his life, Arika Green, on June 3, 2013.
Josh was a devoted husband and a proud father to Westin, Hayden, Gunner, Maverick, and Hallie. His children were the center of his world, and everything he did was for them. Josh shared a birthday with his daughter Hallie, which was very special to him.
Josh was known for his strong will and heart. He was extremely loyal and dependable, and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Above all else, he was known for his work ethic. Long days and hard work were simply part of who he was.
Josh spent many years working for UCM, where he was known as a dedicated and dependable employee. He also served as a Scott County Road Commissioner for 12 years.
In his free time, Josh enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting with his sons, and coyote hunting with close friends he considered family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Josh is survived by his wife, Arika of Winchester; his children, Westin, Hayden, Gunner, Maverick, and Hallie; his mother, Tammy, and her companion, David Wiswell; his half brother, Dustin Barrett and wife Amy, and their daughter, Tallie; and his grandmother, Grandma Roach. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as the Whewell family, who loved him as their own. He was preceded in death by his father, Rick Roach; his grandparents, Ed Brummett and Ruby Brummett; and other loved family members.
A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Daws Family Funeral Home in Winchester. Casual attire is welcome. A private funeral service will be held.
