Joshua Murfield Windle

Joshua Murfield Windle age 89, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He was born March 1, 1936 in McAlester, Oklahoma to John Earl Windle and Mary (Riddle) Windle. He married Christine DeGiacomo on October 12, 1963 in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
He served in the U.S. army. He worked as a lineman for OG&E for 27 years before retiring. J.M. attended both St. Stevens Catholic Church in Holdenville, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wewoka, and he was a Eucharistic minister. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, lying about how many birds he caught, golfing, telling stories and he was a avid OU fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lora Whittefield, Nora Benton and Dora Mullins; brothers, Martin Windle, and Eddie Windle.
J.M. is survived by his wife Christine Windle of the home; children, Mike Windle and wife Amanda, Anthony Windle and partner Gilbert Johnston, and Kathleen Nokusille and husband Louis; grandchildren, Joshua Rinehart, Aaryan Phillips, Camryn Frair, Hayden Jones, Jerry Frair; sisters, Ruby Breesawiz, Cora Youngwood, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 22, 2025 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma with Father Duck officiating. Interment to follow Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers: Rick Berg, Ray Baldwin, Louis Nokusille, Mike Weatherly, Mitch Potter, Terry Mantooth.
Honorary pallbearers: Joshua Rinehart, Aaryan Phillips, Camryn Frair, Hayden Jones.
