Josie Lee Fischer was born on March 14, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to Walter Louis Fischer and Emma Mae (Bollmer) Fischer. She passed away peacefully in Jourdanton, Texas, on October 23, 2025.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mary Summerall, Bertha Josey, Betty Fischer Wilson, and Annie Withrow; and brothers Walter Fischer Jr., Clyde Fischer, Marvin Fischer and brother-in law Elmer Courtney.

She is survived by her sister Bessie E. Courtney; brother Leroy Fischer; niece Elizabeth McMillion (Palmer Dwane); nephews Elmer R. Courtney Jr. (Sally) and Michael L. Courtney (Elizabeth Rubio); along with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.

Josie was known for her bright, outgoing spirit and warm heart. Everyone at the nursing home adored her. She loved doing crafts, creating beautiful pieces with plastic canvas. She created boxes with floral designs for tissues, and scissor holders to protect someone from injury. Josie had a fondness for jewelry and enjoyed dressing up. She also loved Mexican food and treasured the simple joys of life. In her younger years, she loved playing with her nieces and nephews, jumping rope, and playing jacks.

In keeping with Josie's wishes, no funeral services will be held. She will be cremated and remembered with love by all who knew her.
