Joy Elizabeth Dixon, age 76, passed away on January 5, 2024, in Brunswick. She was born on August 27, 1947, in Morehead, North Carolina and had lived in Glynn County most of her life

Joy dedicated over 20 years of her life to the Waffle House, where she worked diligently before embarking on a new adventure at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Her commitment and strong work ethic were truly admirable. Joy retired from the center after many years of service, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joy found immense joy in taking care of her K9 companions. Baby Girl and Bell Bell were more than pets to her; they were cherished members of her family. Joy's love for animals reflected her kind-hearted nature and nurturing spirit.

A devout Christian, Joy found solace in the pages of her beloved Bible. Reading scripture brought her peace and comfort throughout her life. Her faith served as a guiding light in both times of triumph and tribulation.

Sister Joy was a member of the Revival Center, Church of Jesus Christ for many years until 5 years ago she became a faithful member of the Pentecostals of Brunswick.

Joy was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Elizabeth Brown Wilson and by her sons-in-law, Willie Harrison and Raymond Van Daley.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Harrison of Ludowici, Cynthia Drury (Phillip Miller), and Marvin Drury, all residing in Brunswick. She was not only a loving mother but also a grandmother to eight grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to fifteen great-grandchildren.

The visitation service will be held on January 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Pentecostals of Brunswick, located at 5608 New Jesup Hwy in Brunswick, GA. This will be followed by the funeral service at the same location beginning at 11:00am.  The interment will be in the Chapel Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be April Smith, James Drury, James Jones, Shane Stutts, D'ondre Carrol and Phillip Miller.
