Joy Ann Folkerts

Joy Ann Folkerts, age 82, of Grayson, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Waldo E. Boothe and Violet A. Boothe of Tuscaloosa, AL.

Joy started her career as a telephone operator in Tuscaloosa, AL, then went on to work for the federal government at Ft. McPherson, the VA hospital and retiring at the CDC.

She was brought up attending services and family homecoming gatherings at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, in Fayette, AL.

Joy is survived by two sons, Rodney K. Folkerts of Valencia, California and Rodger K. Folkerts md. (Jeremy A. Yakle, JD.) of Dallas, GA; and her brother, Larry E. Boothe; her grandchildren, Krystal, Lyndsay, Lance and Landon; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son, Ronald E. Folkerts Jr.; and both her parents.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held for Joy at Cornelius Chapel in Buhl, AL on Thursday, January 29th, 2026 at 12:00PM CST, where she will be laid to rest.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Association in honor of all the brave men and women who honorably served their country, to include her youngest son, Rodger K. Folkerts, USAF.
