Joy Ballentine Jowers, born in Columbus, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 63 years old.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, James Marion Ballentine and Bobbie Ann Dahl. A graduate of Columbus State University, Joy dedicated her career to teaching and inspiring young minds as an elementary school teacher. She had a passion for decorating and a special love for her English Bulldogs, Tully and Atticus.
Joy is survived by her sisters, Kay Ballentine Carter (Kenneth), Lynn Ballentine Maxwell (Don), and Anne Ballentine; Greg Dahl and Tracy, Haley, and Carson; Jennifer Carter Jones (Paul); nephews Justin and Jason; and many other beloved family members and friends.
A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joy’s memory to PAWS Humane Society, 4900 Milgen Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
