Joy Lynette McAlhaney, 67, of Varnville, SC entered into rest on October 12, 2025 at her residence. Joy was born on March 6, 1958 to the late Jack W. McAlhaney and the late Phyllis May Warren McAlhaney. She was the wife of the late William Daniel Bilton, Jr.
Joy was a graduate of Patrick Henry Academy, Class of 1976. She also attended Tri-County Technical College and received a veterinarian tech certificate. Joy attended Open Arms Fellowship. She enjoyed working with her plants, cutting grass, shopping, and caring for animals.
Surviving are: her sons, Andrew Jacob Bilton (Zailie) of Varnville, South Carolina and William Daniel Bilton, III of Summerville, South Carolina; a brother Jack W. “Jay” McAlhaney, Jr. (Rhonda); a brother Henry Scott McAlhaney; and five grandchildren Matthew Daniel Bilton, Jaiyden Elizabeth Bilton, Charles Grayson Bilton, Emberlynn Grace Bilton, and Kaiser Grey Bilton. Joy is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews as well as great nephews.
