Joy Elise McMullan

Joy Elise McMullan, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, went to her heavenly home early Saturday morning, March 19, 2022 at the age of 44. She is now cancer free and rejoicing in the arms of her Savior.
Joy was born in Oklahoma City on November 17, 1977 to Randel and Sheila Trull. She spent her school years in Ecuador while her parents served as missionaries. On July 14, 2001, she married Joel McMullan at First Baptist Church in Corinth, Texas. She worked teaching pre-school and at banks before obtaining her bachelor's degree in business management in 2017.
Joy was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and church. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of her life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom and always supportive and kind.
Joy's faith was an essential part of her life. She was a loyal servant to God and passionate about sharing the love and warmth of our savior with as many people as possible. Joy was a member of First Baptist Church in Quitman and loved to sing and lead worship. She also loved to read and spent many hours reading the Bible, her favorite book, which she read every day.
In addition to being a devout Christian and loving wife and mother, Joy also loved to run. She ran six days a week up until her cancer diagnosis and enjoyed training for and running half marathons.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of almost 21 years, Joel McMullan of Quitman; three children, Caden, Ian, and Tatum McMullan, all from Quitman; parents, Randel and Sheila Trull of Pittsburg; one brother, Jonathan Trull and wife Mandy of Dallas; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
A celebration of Joy's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 26, 2022 at First United Methodist Church – Joy Hall with Pastor Greg Varndell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday evening, March 25th, at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.
