Joy Russell

Joy Pearl Russell, 93, of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. She was born November 10,1932 to Bernice and Bessie Russell.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with Rev. Ron Meador and John Russell Killian officiating. Burial will follow at the Marlow Cemetery, all burial arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow between the hours of 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Joy never met a stranger. She was kind, fun loving, and would give the shirt off her back to help her family. She cherished being surrounded by loved ones and especially enjoyed spending time with the children, always laughing with a big smile on her face.

She loved playing the piano and singing old hymns. And of course we must not forget her love for watching Westerns.

Joy was a longtime member of Bethel church in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Attending church was one of the highlights of her week. She especially enjoyed singing, clapping, and worshiping alongside her church family.

Joy is survived by her twin sister Floy "Flo" Crosby and a host of nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Bessie Russell; her brother, Rev. Walter E.Russell and wife Fannie; and her sister, Ruby Dean Gallagher and husband, Bill.

Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and steadfast faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Well done, good and faithful servant.
