Joy Dale (Havins) Snyder
January 27, 1937 - March 11, 2026
It is with loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Joy Dale (Havins) Snyder from this life. She entered into the arms and glory of her Savior Jesus Christ on March 11, 2026 at the age of 89. Joy was a wonderful, loving and caring mother whose life was defined by kindness, strength and devotion to her family. She introduced her children to God at an early age and her faith in God always remained strong through the challenges she encountered in this life. Joy was a long-term resident of Oak Ridge, TN, but lived her final three years in the loving care of her son Andy Rogers and his wife Sonja in their Corryton, TN home.
She had a gift of hospitality that welcomed everyone, and was truly loved by all who knew her. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she took great pride in being not only a devoted mother but also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Joy will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit and the way she made everyone feel at home. Whether through her comforting words, her wit, her laughter or the many positive memories she created with those she loved, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, daughter Dana and Al Werkheiser, son Danny and Jil Rogers, and son Andy and Sonja Rogers; sister June Neal; step children Vicki Kahle, David Snyder and Jon Snyder; grandchildren Ashley Meibaum, Lindsay Young, Courtney Koehn and Jordan Rogers and many other relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure the time they spent with her.
Joy was born in San Angelo, TX on January 27, 1937 to Christine Marie (Padgett) Havins and Raymond Truitt Havins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Fred Leonard Snyder and her sister Lawana Leftwich.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love and beautiful spirit will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service to celebrate Joy’s life and honor the wonderful person she was will be announced at a later date. She is forever loved and forever remembered.
